We are thrilled to announce that Scholarship Prep has been awarded $2.85 million to expand vital support services through the California Department of Education’s (CDE) California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP). This prestigious grant, a testament to our commitment to excellence and community empowerment, marks the beginning of our third cohort in this transformative program.
As one of only 20 LEAs selected to receive recognition and grant funding in the first round of the CCSPP, Scholarship Prep Orange County demonstrated remarkable success, enriching educational experiences and providing vital support services to our students and families. With this latest funding, we aim to build upon our past achievements and further enhance the educational landscape for our Scholars.
Key features of our community school model that contribute to our success include:
Daily Social-Emotional Learning
Students start each day with grounding, community-building activities that create physical and emotional safety.
Teacher leadership opportunities and school-wide training in Trauma-informed and Culturally Responsive Education
Our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create supportive and inclusive learning environments that address students’ diverse needs while recognizing and responding to trauma and cultural differences sensitively.
Governance opportunities for families and stakeholder engagement
Families help shape the school’s direction through governance opportunities, while stakeholder engagement ensures everyone’s voice is heard, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
Community Partnerships
- Food Supplies – Partnerships that provide food and groceries directly to students and families.
- Health Supports – Partnerships that provide medical, dental, vision, and/or mental health services to students and families.
- Wraparound Services – Partnerships that provide holistic supports, including case management, staff training, haircuts, family education courses, tutoring, targeted student clubs, and linkage to additional community resources such as housing and utility support.
The newly secured funds will be strategically utilized to bolster our support services, ensuring all students have access to high-quality education and comprehensive support systems.
From innovative learning initiatives to community engagement programs, every dollar will be invested thoughtfully to maximize its impact on the Scholarship Prep community.
