Checking In & Following Up
Weekly
Check-Ins
Students use an online platform to share how they are feeling and respond to a curated prompt verbally or in writing.
- Over time, students build trust, knowing that their teachers and counselors are listening and genuinely care about their well-being.
- Providing verbal and non-verbal avenues for students to share their thoughts and feelings lessens the chance of someone needing support slipping through the cracks.
Read.
Respond.
React.
Classroom teachers review and acknowledge each response and flag any concerns for further review by the school counselor. This helps them to connect with each student, recognize their vulnerability, reinforce their trust, and build strong relationships.
From here, counselors can determine a collaborative approach with teachers to support students in need.
